News Updates

September 6, 2017

Hi to each and to all,

Dropping by with a mini update re our two Saturday Retreats  - T'ai Chi Chih on the 9th and Wisdom Healing Qigong  on the 16th

Most people who replied indicated that they could only come for the morning session.  Since the groups will be fairly small, we will do both retreats for the morning only, arriving around 9:15 and going then from 9:30 – 12:30. Suggested offering would then be $15.

Please let me know if others are still thinking of joining us.

For anyone new to the Retreat House, I will forward you the directions.  Feel free to drive down
ahead of time during the week to get your bearings … some have found that helpful.

Continued blessings for each new day as it unfolds,

ask yourself what makes you come alive. And go do that.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”

August 30, 2017

Hi to each and to all on my mailing lists,

I look forward to starting up our T'ai Chi Chih and Wisdom Healing Qigong  weekly sessions again for the fall, beginning the second week of September (12th ) and finishing the second week of December (14th ). It will work out  to 10 weeks of sessions, please God and the weather, and depending on sufficient registrations.

***  Click here for Fall 2017 Flyer for T'ai Chi Chih and Wisdopm Healing Qigong for easy access, easy printing, and easy sharing. If there are places you can post or drop off a  copy, or any other way you can share this information, I would deeply appreciate that.  Details also given below for anyone having issues opening PDF attachments.

Please note that because of other commitments, for the fall there will be 4 weeks with no sessions:

  • The last week of September from the 26th  – 28th
  • The first two weeks of October from the 3rd  – 12th
  • The first week of December from the 5th  – 7th  .

There will also be two Saturday Retreat Days in September. They are being offered as 9:30 – 3:30 or you can come half a day if that is all you have.    PLEASE let me know a.s.a.p. if you would like to register for one or both of the Retreat Days and whether a full day or half day works well for you. The Retreat Days do need to be pre-registered.

***  All are welcome to any of the sessions, for both new and returning students.
***  September classes will be basic introductory drop-in practice sessions.
***  Mid-October to mid-December classes will be my regular full 8-week set.

On another note … re costs ...
*** The "Suggested Offering" for my sessions can be given session to session or at the beginning of a set of classes for the whole set.  Either way, I would still need to know upfront that you are committing to all 8 weeks since it lets me know that there are enough students committing to the particular class in order for it to go ahead. Students tell me it also motivates them to continue to come for the full session. I have added a tag of “or give what you can”, to make sessions available to all when the full suggested amount may well be out of reach.

An environmental reminder re fragrances and scented personal care products:
Please keep classes as scent free as possible because of increasing allergies among students, as well as my own allergies, to scents and fragrances, including all kinds of personal care products, hand sanitizers, laundry detergents and fabric softeners such as Bounce, etc.

Re this website:
Always welcome to browse this web site.
Lots of Wisdom Healing Qigong video links in particular available at the end of that page (See Wisdom Healing Qigong menu bar at bottom on left) for anyone who might like to browse them and get a taste since this is so very new.
My Facebook link on my Home Page has a couple of short videos of us as teachers doing practice at T'ai Chi Chih Conference, again to give a feel for it.
I don’t do “Friends” on Facebook. Far too time consuming for me. Good for simple posts.   Flyer copy also there.
This News Updates menu bar is also a good one to keep checking. Upgrading my web site … a work in progress … for “whenever”!

Feel free to get in touch if you have other questions.

EnJOY these lingering tastes of Summer as we are getting ready to welcome Fall.

Wisdom Healing Qigong video links for easy browsing

At the end of the Wisdom Healing Qigong Page you will find some links to some videos with Mingtong Gu for anyone who would like to have a taste.

Most of them are You Tube links that are readily available, along with numerous others.

Perhaps they may entice you to come and join us for a class at The Lantern on Barnes Road in St. John's, or to go on-line at www.chicenter.com  to find out more and maybe even register for an on-line 4-wek or 3-month course.
